Coffee at Cafe Plenty | NEW opening in Brighton
Recently opened Cafe Plenty is making it's mark in Brighton as a cafe, micro-bakery and tea and coffee brewhouse. They've cleverly created a space where visitors can eat, drink, work and collaborate in good knowledge that all of the ingredients are locally sourced, the food is freshly prepared in house and the flourishing partnerships with local companies mean only the best tea and coffee around. Their unique coffee blend has been developed with the help of Brighton based coffee specialists, Coffee @ 33 and certainly does not disappoint. And, for all tea lovers out there, this is the place to be, Plenty have come together with Brighton tea company Chi to provide you with over 20 magical flavours.
I visited Cafe Plenty for the first time last Sunday. After a fairly eventful bike ride with the family which resulted in not 1, but 2 punctures a good coffee and something tasty to eat was exactly what we needed! I was pleasantly surprised to see so much space! Due to the size of most venues in Brighton a lot of the cafes in town have to squeeze tables into often awkward and tiny spaces. Cafe plenty is a wonderful contrast with their large, open plan venue stretching across two shop fronts and spacious meeting rooms set up at the back. There is an array of large wooden tables spread out in the available space on a cool concrete floor and the full length windows at the front of the cafe flood the space with day light, even later on into the afternoon. Plus they've even managed to include space on the exposed brick walls where you can store your bike! There's not much they haven't thought of to be quite honest!
It was refreshing to see a selection of healthy snacks compared to the usual 'carb and sugar loaded' options presented at most cafes. With help from the knowledgable staff we made a well informed selection (a raw, cacao and coconut, ball and a gluten free flapjack) and, much to our delight, were brought over a Bakewell slice to test out as well! In my opinion it's little gestures like that which leave you with good memories and confidence that you're a valued customer, something you don't come across very often! The entire experience continued in much the same way; staff were extremely friendly and obviously enjoyed, and cared about, what they do.
Last but not least, something that may not be an important factor to some but is one of THE most important for me, the toilets were spotless! It's not something you often hear about in a restaurant review but it can change your opinion of a venue very quickly. So I've thrown it in as a bonus point to Cafe Plenty!
The Circus Circus parade has been in desperate need of a good coffee shop for a long time and the industrial, 'New York loft' style that Cafe Plenty effortlessly pulls off very much suits the local area. I look forward to trying out some of their fantastic looking food in the very near future!
